It's Peyton vs. Deuce in Mississippi NFL battle

Mississippi's first NFL exhibition game in a decade will feature two stars with significant ties to the state.
Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts will play Deuce McAllister and the New Orleans Saints in Jackson on Aug. 26.
The Colts quarterback's father, Archie Manning, grew up in tiny Drew, Miss., and starred at the University of Mississippi before becoming the most famous player in Saints history. Peyton's younger brother, Eli, was a Heisman Trophy finalist at Ole Miss in 2003.

The Saints re-signed defensive tackle Willie Whitehead, who has been with the team since 1999, to a three-year contract and strongside linebacker James Allen to a one-year deal.

New Orleans Saints Inside Slant

Little insight came out of the first team meeting presided over by Saints coach Sean Payton on March 20 when players reported to begin their off-season strength and conditioning workouts. Then again, you didn't have to be a fly on the wall to know that things are going to be different under their rookie head coach. Payton was tight-lipped the next day about what he told his team, but running back Deuce McAllister gave a brief synopsis about what they can expect.
